THANK YOU
76. I want to start this blog off by telling you how humbled I am by your responses and to thank you so much. When I first came up with the idea of doing the blog, I had no idea if people would be interested in this story or not. Well, it's 8 am, May 14, 2023. The blog has been up for only six days so far and we have had over 6,600 hits on our site. How amazing is that? Especially if you consider that the only place we posted any info about it was on our Facebook page that had been dormant for almost a year. We have been viewed by people from the US, Canada, Iceland, the UK, France, Italy, Norway, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Peru, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Spain and Australia. And all this because you shared this with your friends and family. Please keep sharing this site with the people you think would enjoy it. Also sign up for blog alerts on our home page.
77. On April 18, 2023 my lawyer sent a data request letter to the city of Superior (see copy below). He received the info on Friday, May 12, 2023. It’s 125 pages. He is sending me the hard copies and I’ll review them at that time.
Meeting March, 2021
78. I would like to expand on point 13 of the first blog. With the continuous closings in Minnesota due to covid, business was still very brisk here in Wisconsin. People were coming in from all over Minnesota, Illinois and other shut down states. I got a call from the police wanting to know if I would meet with them at Shorty’s(my other business). Of course I said yes. I don’t remember the exact date in March. Two officers showed up and we met for about an hour or so. It was a very amicable meeting. They said they were setting up meetings with all the owners in town and were very appreciative that I met with them. Towards the end they told me that the mayor and chief of police were getting annoyed with all the complaints they were getting from Melissa Hyatt owner of A Dozen Excuses. Her shop is nestled between the Palace Bar and Who’s Bar. Both the bars have been there for decades. A Dozen Excuses opened in 2014. They told me that the jukebox was on past our closing time of 2 am. I told them I would take care of that right away, and I did. They were thankful and left. I will have more on this meeting and Melissa Hyatt in the next blog.
Staff Meeting March 24, 2021
79. Below is a copy of the talking points I had for my staff meeting. It lasted about an hour and a half. We talked at length about all these points and others.
80. I will hopefully have a couple more blogs this week and as always, thanks for reading.
