INFO FROM THE CHIEF PART 2

271. Welcome to Blog 25. I want to start today by showing you the third email I have sent to City Council(See below). I sent the first one on Sept 18,2023(See Blog 19, point 236), and the second one on Sept 27,2023(See Blog 21, point 253). So, that would be 2 emails X 9 council members = 18 emails. Responses = 0. That prompted me to send this email below to them on Oct 20,2023.

To City Council, Oct 20. 2023

This is a follow up email pertaining to the two emails I sent you on September 18 and 27. I have not heard from any of the nine councilors. I don’t know if you are considering any of the two requests I made or not. They are both very serious in my opinion, especially the one involving the Mayor. I want you to know that I worked very hard on getting the information that guided me to making these requests. I wanted to make sure that the facts were accurate and truthful. That is why I called the blog “Palacebartruth.com”. I wonder if any of you had came in to Shorty’s or the Palace and had your purse, wallet, credit card stolen by one of my employees and you sent me, my wife and manager an email about it and weeks went by and never heard back from any of us, how would you feel.

Well, that’s where I’m at. I don’t know if you are considering my requests or not. A simple acknowledgment that you read the requests would have been nice. After all, you work for us, the taxpayers. You don’t work for the Mayor or any other government officials, you work with them. We, the taxpayers are the ones that pay your salaries and are the ones you represent. 

Tylor Elm, who is the councilor for the Palace as well as Melissa Hyatt and her store A Dozen Excuses, had no problem responding to her texts which I have documented on several blogs, even though many of them were not factual. At this point, I am very frustrated by the lack of information I have received, none at all in fact, so I am asking you today to please let me know where you are at with these requests. If I don’t hear anything by October 30, 2023, I will then have to assume you have no interest in pursuing these matters. A copy of this email will be posted on the next blog which will probably be on Monday or Tuesday.

272. Now, back to INFO FROM THE CHIEF PART 2. The email below is an email sent by Chief Alexander to Capt. Winterscheidt dated March 18, 2022. This would have been about 12 hours after the ONLY shooting at the Palace. No injuries, nobody hurt.

I have been communicating with various councilors, the Mayor, Frog, and of course the owner of A dozen Excuses this morning. We are convening a meeting on Monday at 2PM (not with the owner of A Dozen Excuses) to discuss options to include sanctions up to suspension of the liquor license. 

Paul - I believe you and Brad have worked with the Palace owners and Melissa from the donut shop. Prior to my meeting I want to have a list of all calls for service to the Palace in the past 2 years to include the nature of the call. I would also like the full incident report for any felony level calls in that same date range. Perhaps you can have Brad pull that info together. For this weekend I think we should be concerned of more problems, possible retaliation. If possible I want to fill 1-2 PR's each night this weekend for extra manpower. We need to make a highly visible presence at the Palace and any other known locations this clientele visits. Frequent walk throughs, presence in parking lots....and enforcement of violations. Additionally, lets reach out to the owner of the Palace and raise our concerns for the weekend and stress their need for adequate security and calling 911 if they need help ASAP. Paul do you have their contact info?

273. It hasn't even been 24 hours since the ONLY shooting at the Palace and the Chief is talking about suspending our license. Doesn't that seem odd to you? Other bars have had much more serious issues over time, including murder and haven’t had their licenses revoked or suspended. 

When the Chief says he has “been communicating with various councilors, the Mayor, Frog, and of course the owner of A dozen Excuses this morning. We are convening a meeting on Monday at 2PM (not with the owner of A Dozen Excuses) to discuss options to include sanctions up to suspension of the liquor license.” This is only 10 hours and 5 minutes after the incident. The call was at 1:47 AM and the Chief’s email was at 11:52 AM. Isn’t it odd they don’t even talk about who did it and if they are in custody? Nope, they talk about suspending our license instead. If you were a cop, wouldn't arresting the suspect be your first priority? I know it was mine. I think my first two questions were, did anybody get hurt? and did they catch the guy? But I guess this is what they have been waiting for. They had been trying to find a reason to shut us down and this was it. And guess what? They hadn’t arrested the shooter yet. They knew who he was. A day or two later, I asked one of my staff if they had caught him. She said no but he was supposed to turn himself in next week.

I actually didn’t believe her. I thought that was just a stupid rumor. Guess what? He turned himself in on March 22,2022, four days after the shooting. You know what?

When your priorities are to shut down a bar seem more important than arresting the guy who shot a gun in that bar, Superior, you have a problem, a big problem.

And by the way the Chief, in the very first sentence says “I have been communicating with various councilors, the Mayor, Frog, and of course the owner of A dozen Excuses this morning.”

Can you explain to me why the Messenger of Misery, Melissa Hyatt would be involved in any of these discussions at any level? In fact when we asked the court for certain records about the non-shooting-shooting on May 26, 2022, they refused because it did not happen on our property and that we weren’t victims. I’m starting to think this is one big cult. Maybe I’ll do a Blog on that.

274. Did you know that the Kwik Trip on Hammond had two separate shootings there? Neither do most people. We only had one. I will have a full report on that as well as other shootings on an upcoming Blog. By the way, I’m a big fan of Kwik Trip. I love their donuts, I think they are the best in town. I went there all the time, so I’m not trying to pick on them, but this information is available in the public records. And as always, I don’t blame Kwik Trip or anywhere else that bad things happen. I only blame the bad guys and it’s about time that the authorities start thinking that way.
