MANIFESTO OF A MADMAN PART 6

SOUR NOTE

FACE OF EVIL

THE MOUTHPIECE HAS FALLEN OUT OF THE HORN AND ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!

511. Welcome back to the Blog. Well, the election season is heating up, the weather here in Vegas is HOT, the temperature in Superior is cooling down and my blood is boiling as usual. Reading the Mayor’s desperate letter I think the only thing he left out was mentioning that in my spare time I burn down churches and orphanages.

If this situation wasn't so serious it would almost be laughable. I hope you enjoy the new picture of the Mayor with his beloved horn. It reminded me of something.

Now back to the “MANIFESTO OF A MADMAN.”

THE LONG LETTER

512.

LIE # 6

The Mayor said the following:

“Despite clear warnings, the management was either unable or unwilling to correct the situation.

COMMENTS

There was no clear, unclear, fuzzy or any kind of warnings and I can’t “correct the situation” if you don’t tell me what exactly it is and what you would want me to do. That’s called communication. But you never did Mayor. In fact you, on purpose, did not attend a meeting with me that you scheduled, knowing that you were going to be in Las Vegas at the taxpayers expense. You have a schedule that has more holes in it than a closet full of moths.

You also canceled your final meeting with Jordan and the two meetings you did have with her, you delayed, even though on one of them you had nothing on your schedule that day, like most days. In the end, you never met me, yet you made all these judgments about me, stole my business and took away Jordan’s dream of owning a business. And the worst part of it is, who did you use for information to base your opinion on me? Well that would also be somebody that has never met me. Melissa Hyatt. That’s who.

To my readers, to the city council and to the taxpayers of Superior, is this the kind of leadership that you want from your Mayor? If he is capable of doing things like this, then what else is he capable of doing? In any case, another lie, another email. So, today Aug 13, 2024, I am sending the Mayor and his assistant the following email and I will let you know if and when I get a response:

"Despite clear warnings, the management was either unable or unwilling to correct the situation."

Could please forward any information to support this statement because I have nothing on file.

Thanks,

Brian Noel

513. The Mayor then said the following:

“Several months later, Jordan Wheat applied for a new license for the same location but under her ownership. After she met with the Police Chief, I met with her twice and reviewed her written business proposal, which is attached to the license in the council agenda packet. I asked several questions at these meetings about how she planned to operate a new establishment and took notes summarizing our conversation after each meeting.”

COMMENTS

When I owned Elgin Sports I met frequently with CEO's, owners, sales managers and reps from all the big companies like Nike, Adidas, Reebok and many more. Most of those meetings were in my office. I also had many meetings with banks and landlords over the years. It was usually in their offices and I always had a briefcase with me. I never had a meeting with a politician.

When I went to the only meeting with the city, yes the one that no-show Jim didn't attend because he was in Vegas on your dime, I noticed something a little strange. I could be wrong but it seemed to me that the people from the city(or at least most of them) didn’t have briefcases or files with them. I had a file with me. I told my wife and lawyer after that it was one of strangest meetings I had ever gone to. It had no flow, but more importantly they never spoke in specifics about any problems they had with us. That’s what this meeting should have been about. They should have said what the problems were and then what result they were after. None of that occurred. Knowing what I know now I can see why. The outcome of the Palace was preordained. The Mayor didn’t show up, no specific problems or solutions offered. This was a meeting for legal reasons only. They could say “Oh ya, we had a meeting with him” in the event of any legal proceedings that may occur in the future. In other words it was nothing more than a set-up.

The reason I bring this up is because after Jordan had a meeting with Paine, I asked her if he had brought a file or briefcase to the meeting. The answer is no for both meetings. On the other hand, Jordan did have files for both of them. Why am I making such a fuss over files and briefcases? Well maybe I’m nuts but in my almost 50 years in business, I took notes in real time. It's hard to remember everything after the fact. When somebody doesn't take notes in real time it makes me think that they have already made a decision so no matter what you say the outcome has been predetermined. So why take notes or address solutions? That’s why I am being fussy. Having said that this what the Mayor said:

“I asked several questions at these meetings about how she planned to operate a new establishment and took notes summarizing our conversation after each meeting.”

So time for another email to the Mayor today. Here it is:

On the Dec 6, 2022 letter, the Mayor said the following:

“I asked several questions at these meetings about how she planned to operate a new establishment and took notes summarizing our conversation after each meeting.”

My request is:

1- Did the Mayor take notes?

2- If he did, could you forward me a copy or copies of them?

Thanks,

Brian Noel

514. Then the Mayor went on to say this:

“Ms. Wheat had been working as a bartender at Shorty's which, along with the Palace, was owned by Mr. Brian Noel. At some point late 2021 or early 2022, Ms. Wheat was promoted to manager of the Palace Bar. About the same time, the police department and administration began noticing a significant increase in call volume to the Palace, culminating in two shootings in the spring. My office also received numerous complaints from at least one neighbor about loud and late nights, littering, parking violations, and chronic fighting, all to the detriment of other area businesses. “

COMMENTS

When he said “About the same time, the police department and administration began noticing a significant increase in call volume to the Palace” he got the dates wrong. It wasn't 2021 and 2022. It was 2020-2021. I’ll give the Mayor a pass on that one. There was a significant increase in call volume because of the significant increase in business that was mostly because of the covid rules in Minnesota and other states. Border cities like Superior and Hudson among others had huge increases in business. Most bars, especially those closest to the bridges saw large gains. The city had a significant increase in call volume from all those bars. You can see for yourself on Blog 22. Here is the link blog 22 (palacebartruth.com)

And by the way, I bet that call volumes increased almost everywhere including Walmart, Kwik Trip etc. Almost all the businesses, salons, restaurants, convenience stores, basically most if not all of them saw an increase in sales and benefited from the shutdowns in our neighboring states. Our numbers at Shorty’s were through the roof. It’s like when I lived in Florida and there was a hurricane alert. You had to wait in line to get into Home Depot, Lowes and all the grocery stores. You couldn’t even find a parking spot. But no, in Mayorland, population 2 people, the only problems were at the Palace.

The numbers were provided by the City of Superior. I think it’s very hypocritical for him to not mention that this was a city wide issue. He is trying to tie the increase of calls to Jordan and the Palace. She didn’t start working full time at the palace until 2022.

Superior police combat hike in crashes with increased enforcement

Traffic crashes in Superior are up 25% this year.

December 06, 2021 at 4:00 PM

The Superior Police Department is stepping up traffic enforcement in the city due to a steep rise in vehicle crashes. The number of traffic crashes nationwide increased 18.5% in the first six months of 2021, the largest six-month increase ever recorded, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Superior is facing an even bigger hike, said Community Policing Officer Bradley Jago in a news release. “Traffic crashes in the city of Superior are up approximately 25% this year, which concerns our department,” he said.

That’s up 10% from Nov. 4, when the detour routing traffic to the Bong Bridge was put in place, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. Studies have shown that increasing the enforcement of speeding, safety belt violations, failure-to-yield right of way and inattentive driving violations reduce the severity and overall number of crashes. Officers will begin to conduct traffic stops for these kinds of violations along routes that have an increased number of traffic crashes.

“Superior police officers will be paying particular attention to the Belknap Viaduct area, as a large amount of traffic has been funneled to the Bong Bridge area due to construction at the ‘Can of Worms,’ and along East Second Street,” Jago said. Most crashes, including fatal crashes, occur between 7-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m., according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Contributing factors often include speeding, inattentive driving and following too closely.

Public information campaigns and an uptick in traffic enforcement are the tools police departments can use to help reduce traffic crashes, Jago said. The Superior Police Department aims to focus on both. “The greatest tool available to any community in terms of reducing crashes, however, is in the hands of the drivers themselves. Simply by slowing down and buckling up, drivers can play a huge part in the reduction of crashes,” Jago said. “Please join us in our mission to ensure no family suffers the loss of a loved one from a traffic crash during this holiday season.”

It seems to me that only the Mayor and the Telegram, who are by the way joined at the hip amongst other body parts, were the only ones that didn’t know that traffic, especially from Minnesota was way up because of the covid restrictions in their state. The one thing that was weird about this article is that The Beacon of Truth, The Superior Telegram doesn't even mention that. I guess it doesn’t fit in with their ideological views or maybe their staff were holed up in the Mayor’s basement wearing masks and never went outside to see what the hell was going on. They only blamed it on a bridge.

BAD LEADERS

515. I have spoke about leadership and lack of leadership to you on previous Blogs. I’ve always been fascinated how one person can ruin a city, a state or even a country. I get even more fascinated when some of them get re-elected. Two of those leaders are Tim Walz, governor of Minnesota and Jim Paine, mayor of Superior. After doing some research I have come to the conclusion that they have a lot more in common than you may have thought. It's almost like they are Mini-Me’s of each other. They are always tooting their own horn, telling you everything is beautiful etc.etc. But sometimes facts and truth get in the way. In the last Blog I pointed out how Superior has been in a downward trend under Paine’s leadership. Today, I want to share with you how Minnesota has fared under Walz’s reign of terror.

After Tim Walz Became Governor, Minnesotans Fled the State—and

Took Almost $5 Billion With Them

Residents fled the high-tax state for Florida and Texas

Jessica Costescu

August 9, 2024

Since Tim Walz became governor, Minnesota has faced an exodus of residents fleeing the state, taking nearly $5 billion of household income with them, according to data reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

On net, nearly 46,000 Minnesotans left between April 1, 2020, and July 1, 2023, according to the most recently available Census data, with many fleeing Walz’s major tax increases for the income tax-free states of Florida and Texas. The Land of 10,000 Lakes lost more than 19,000 in 2022 alone, the biggest drop in at least 30 years.

It's not clear what led to the exodus, but in addition to tax surges, spending increases, and other progressive initiatives, Minnesota, under Walz's watch, has faced a spike in violent crime and a drop in academic achievement. The downward domestic migration trend became apparent soon after Walz—who was recently tapped as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate—became governor.

In 2018, Minnesota saw a net influx of nearly 6,800 residents from other states, Census data show. But when Walz took office the next year, that number dropped to a measly 65.

The Harris campaign is leaning on Walz to "fire up Wisconsin progressives who wish their state was just a little more like his," the New York Times reported. Under Walz's leadership, however, nearly 41,500 Minnesotans have fled the state for its eastern neighbor, according to IRS migration data. By comparison, 33,500 Wisconsinites moved to Minnesota during the same time frame.

After the Badger State, Florida, Texas, and North Dakota were the top destinations for fleeing Minnesotans. California was the fifth most popular, though the liberal bastion has faced an exodus of its own.

As governor, Walz has overseen tax increases on income, sales, and gasoline, among others, while funding progressive programs like free college for students with a family income below $80,000. Yet billions of dollars left the state with fleeing residents.

In 2022, for example, Minnesota lost a net $2.2 billion in household income compared to the year prior, according to the most recently available IRS data. The state lost $1.6 billion and $1.2 billion in the two preceding years.

And while Minnesota’s total population did rise during Walz’s first term, the increase = slowed compared to the preceding years and dropped slightly below the nation’s growth rate. Similarly, the state’s per capita GDP dropped below the United States’ in 2023, the first time in recorded history.

Minnesotans have faced other struggles as well, such as in education and crime.

Like many school systems following the COVID pandemic, academic achievement plummeted in the state, with fourth grade reading and eighth grade math proficiency scores dropping to 30-year lows n 2022. As Minnesota faced the crisis, after a four-year process, the state Department of Education in January adopted radical K-12 social studies standards that involve teaching students about Palestinians’ fight for "liberation" against the oppressive "colonizer" state of Israel.

Spending per student, meanwhile, skyrocketed between 2020 and 2023, marking its greatest increase in a decade, according to the Center of the American Experiment, a Minnesota-focused think tank.

Violent crime remained above pre-pandemic levels as of 2022, according to the most recent Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension data. Murders were up 75 percent and aggravated assaults 55 percent compared to 2019, though rape showed a slight decrease, and robberies were trending down.

Minnesota was also ground zero for the 2020 anti-police riots, with a mob burning down a Minneapolis police precinct following the death of George Floyd in the City of Lakes. Walz has faced criticism or delaying the National Guard’s deployment.

The governor did not respond to a request for comment.

516. So there you have it. Another mess that the taxpayers will be stuck with when he’s gone. That’s it for today and I’ll see you soon.
