INSANE IN THE PAINE!
451. Welcome to Blog 52. Today’s Blog ends a chapter in this story that started with a letter to me from Mayor Paine on April 12, 2022 (See Blog 1, Point 12) and ends on December 6, 2022 at a City Council meeting. But not to worry, I have months of Blogs to go because as we close one chapter, we open another.
One quick thing. We found this text below. It is a text between Jordan and my wife.
DECEMBER 5, 2022
THE DAY BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING
COMMENT
SHELLEY NELSON
What is going on here is that Jordan had got a call from Shelley Nelson, reporter for the Superior Telegram. She is telling my wife that Nelson called her and has her business plan. She is wondering how Nelson obtained it since she had never given it to her. I don’t know how Nelson got them but I will say that Nelson played a role in this story from the beginning. I haven’t talked much about her but her name will come up again on today’s Blog as well on future Blogs.
So today Dec 6, 2022 is the day of reckoning. Tonight is the city council meeting and they vote on whether or not Jordan will get a license. As I stated before, I knew there was a zero chance that would happen. On the other side of it, it would at least put a finality to this outrageous and what I believe totally illegal charade that the Mayor had done to us and that we could move on and try and figure out what the next chapter in this strange journey might be. But I was not prepared with what was about to happen. And in keeping with today’s theme of “Insanity” there is plenty of that to come.
On the last Blog my lawyer sent me an email on Dec 6, 2022 at 9:53 AM (about eight and a half hours before the meeting) stating that the Mayor is going to ask the council to deny the liquor license application. That in itself is not news. We pretty much already knew that.
And don’t forget there was this gutless, shameful and unprofessional act from the Mayor’s office from Blog 49, Point 440 on Nov 22, 2022. I encourage you to go back and read it. Here is part or it.
The mayor’s assistant called a few minutes ago. She said that the mayor is not inclined to support the liquor license for the revised Palace Bar. The mayor encouraged Jordan to bring her application to the city council, who will make the ultimate decision. This is a very disappointing development. Without the mayor’s support, it is an uphill battle.
I thought at that time that he finally realized that he had crossed the line into criminal activity and rather than apologize or admit he was wrong that he would step away and let the council deal with it. After all, have you ever heard this Mayor apologize or admit that he did anything wrong? Me neither. Well guess what?
I was totally wrong on my assumption.

FOUR HOURS AND TWENTY FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF THE MEETING
THE FACE OF EVIL
Just when I thought he was going to go away and leave it to City Council, the “Face Of Evil” comes back with a vengeance. And he waited until almost the last minute. Does this sound like a man with all of his faculties? Is this really the kind of Mayor you want? What kind of message do you think he is sending to the business community and to any company thinking of locating here? Here is the first part of his letter.
Let’s start with who he emailed. City Council, his assistant Scherf, Attorney Frog Prell, City Clerk Ramos (Who has since been fired by the Mayor) and Shelley Nelson from the Telegram. Why is Shelley Nelson on this list?. And of course nothing sent to us or Jordan. This letter sort of speaks for itself but the next letter is pure EVIL AND INSANITY.

Jordan gets an email from councilman Brent Fennessey. It was a copy of the letter below. I just want to say that Brent Fennessey did more than anybody on council to at least try and get to the bottom of this situation. Perhaps a good choice to be the next Mayor?

THE MEETING IS STILL GOING ON AND IS LIVE STREAMING AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENS?
America’s favorite villain chimes in. Yep Melissa Hyatt is in the house. Well not quite in the house but on the phone sending the Mayor a text while the meeting is still in progress. The meeting ended at 8:11 PM. She might have been having more than popcorn while watching. More comments of this also on the next Blog. Here is her text.

OH NO, MORE BREAKING NEWS!!!
Not to be outdone the Mayor chimes in with his own text at 8:48 PM. That’s only 37 minutes after the meeting. Boy that is service. Do you all get this kind of service from the Mayor? You don’t? I guess I’ll have to look into that. Anyway, here is the text he sent to Melissa. I hope she was still awake.

He says ”You’re nightmare is finally over”. Really? Is it really? I think it’s only just started.
FINAL COMMENTS
Well that brings the first chapter of our story to an end, sort of. Still lots to talk about and analyze. Think of it like the Rocky movies. We just finished Part 1 with many more to come. And how was that for an ending? It really was like a movie wasn’t it? A scary one for me.
